Frequently asked questions

If you have any problems at all related to your membership of the Jupiter panel, please send us an email at
There are several reasons why you might want to get in touch. These include:

• Your survey link not working
• Not having heard from us in some time
• If you haven’t received a £5 voucher that you think you may be due
• If you object to the content of a survey on moral grounds
• If you wish to leave the Jupiter panel
• To confirm a change in your personal information, including a new email address
• If you would like to recommend someone to us for membership of the panel

These are not the only reasons to contact us, of course. Whatever your reason, feel free to send us an email at and we will do our best to respond.

Remember to provide us with your name and if possible, use the email address that you registered with us when joining the panel, to make it easier for us to identify you.
Jupiter is a panel of like-minded TV viewers who have agreed to be contacted by Ipsos MORI to complete regular surveys about all things TV related. There are approximately

2,000 members of Jupiter at any one time, and you all receive invitations by email to complete surveys about TV related issues.
Our honest answer here is that we don’t know. Ipsos MORI has run many panels focussing on television over the years. Some run for less than a year, others have been running for more than 10 years.

The important thing is that you stay on as a member for as long as you see fit. If you decide eventually that you would like to leave the panel, simply let us know.
There are two ways to leave the panel:
1. Send us an email at email at
2. Click on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each survey invitation you receive
The average length of a Jupiter survey is around 10 minutes; this does not include any video content that we may wish to show you within a survey. Some surveys will be shorter than 10 minutes and some will be longer, but 10 minutes is the average.

The length of a survey dictates how many points it contributes towards your next Amazon voucher, so keep that in mind if we send you a particularly long survey!
No. We tend to create accompanying websites for panels with far higher registered members than 2,000. We imagine the Jupiter panel website wouldn’t be very busy with 2,000 unique visitors, so we have decided to keep everything between us on our surveys themselves and the invitations we send you.
Entry into prize draws?

We find that prize draws are not as good at making our members feel valued as they used to be. Many people will have been on a research panel for years without ever winning the prize draw. It seems a shame to us that someone will have contributed so much to the success of a panel while receiving nothing in return.

We have therefore decided to operate a points system for Jupiter. This means that everyone is guaranteed to earn for the surveys they complete.

The average survey is worth 20 points (in every survey invitation we send, we will tell you how many points it is worth). Shorter surveys will be worth less and longer surveys will be worth more. We will automatically keep a tally of how many points you’ve earned and once you’ve hit 100, we will send you a £5 Amazon voucher code by email and we’ll keep on counting your points until you hit 100 again. The more surveys you complete, the more you will earn!

No. Your points earned on Jupiter panel surveys are only applicable to the Jupiter incentive scheme of £5 Amazon voucher codes for every 100 points earned.
We’re always interested in your opinion. If we send you a survey about a programme you don’t watch or a personality you’ve never heard of, we still want to know what you think and your contribution to the survey will still help towards your next Amazon voucher. So please always tell us what you think.
We expect to send you an invitation for a survey about once every 2-3 weeks. Sometimes it will more frequent than this and sometimes less frequent, but every 2-3 weeks will be about average.
No. We are only allowed to contact you for matters related to the Jupiter panel. We will not use your contact information for any other purpose and we will not pass your personal information on to any third parties (including our client for Jupiter) for any reason without your express written permission.
